Words cannot begin to express my gratitude to everyone who made the carnival and cash raffle successful! Sunday was a wonderful testament to our school community past and present.
Marlene Dawson, the carnival committee, and the parent club board spent the better part of six months preparing for the carnival. With the help of the entire parent community and alumni families our carnival was a huge success! The games and activities, entertainment, and delicious food were excellent and God blessed us with great weather! Thank you Marlene Dawson, the many volunteers and parents that made it all possible.
The cash raffle was also successful. Sheri Vetter, who organized this event, and many others have been selling raffle tickets since November. Many families sold over 20 tickets and Father Dan sold 40! The winners of the raffle are all part of our school community. As soon I have the cash raffle profit I will share the news with all of you. Thank you Mrs. Vetter for once again sharing your time and talents!
Mr. Alex Andrade-Lozano, our extension care lead, will be leaving us soon. Alex will be graduating from Fresno State with a double major in psychology and political science. In the fall, he will begin the Masters Program in Counseling at Fresno State. Alex is an OLV and SJM alumni and as our extension care lead he has used all of his gifts and talents to make our program successful! I will personally miss Alex a great deal. Even as a young boy, he was filled with God’s goodness. His work ethic, compassion, kindness, and love for all will be missed. We hope to keep seeing him around!
I have interviewed several prospective teachers and I will announce the new fifth grade teacher in next week’s family letter. On a happy note Mr. Wukits, our 7th grade teacher, has decided to continue teaching at Our Lady of Victory School for the 2015-2016 school year! Thank you Mr. Wukits!
The school advisory board has approved the budget for the 2015-2016 school year and registration forms will be available soon. Due to an increase in salaries and health benefits, tuition will increase 2% next year. If you need financial help for next year, make sure you let us know as soon as possible. Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
