Volunteers…where would we be without them?  If we did not have these important people we would not have a school! We have volunteers who work in our classrooms, work at our fundraisers and help maintain our campus.  We are blessed! We have several fundraisers that are in need of more volunteers. Here are some things we will need from you to make these events successful.

The golf tournament is quickly approaching.  Mr. Cardinale and Mr. Ledesma are chairing this event need the following:

  • 15 cases of water
  • 15 cases of soda
  • 150 small bags of chips
  • 150 pieces of fruit
  • 150 cookies
  • Condiment packages of mustard and mayonnaise
  • Five parents or volunteers to help run the event on March 27th.

The golf tournament puts the fun back in fundraising! Come join us out on the course either as a golfer or as a helper!

Sheri Vetter is this year’s cash raffle chair.  She has been busy making arrangements for our community to sell raffle tickets at the parishes in our diocese.  So far very few families have taken advantage of this opportunity!  Mrs. Vetter needs help with:

  • Parents to sell at site sales
  • Counters- counting money and tickets that are turned in
  • Competitions- organize the prizes for the class competitions
  • Leader Board- create and maintain an attractive board that will inform the community on how we are doing in sales (ie- Who are the top sellers).

Each family must sell the minimum of four raffle tickets, however we need everyone to sell as many as possible.

The carnival is our final fundraiser of the year.  The carnival is our major community raising event.  Our parishioners and families look forward to this event each year! Marlene Dawson is chairing the carnival for us this year.  She has been soliciting donation since the beginning of the year and she is off to a great start!  She needs more people on the carnival committee!

The golf tournament, cash raffle and carnival are the last chance we have to keep the cost of our tuition down.  We have planned for these events to earn about $60,000 for our school!  At this time I estimate that fewer than 10% of our families are helping out.   I understand and respect that everyone has very busy lives but our children are worth the extra effort needed.  We are a blessed community; thank you for all your past and current efforts!

Faith Corner

St. Alphonsus ( 1696-1787) St. Alphonsus was a lawyer who became a priest.  He lived an exceptionally holy life and was an outstanding moral theologian, who won back sinners to the fold by patience and moderation.

Pray For– the friends and family of Monsignor John Moreton as we remember his life and celebrate all that he gave us.

Thank youSheri Vetter for chairing the cash raffle; Jeff Cardinale and Emanuel Ledesma for chairing the golf tournament; Mrs. Ramirez and Ms. Perez for organizing the student newspaper; Mrs. Marquez for organizing the spelling bee.

First Reconciliation for 3rd grade class- Saturday, March 7, 9:00am at OLV Church.

Car Raffle Sales at St. Therese Parish- March 1st   and 29th.  Please call the office to reserve your spot!

Last OLV School Mass – March 8th, 9:30am Mass at OLV Church.  Choir students should arrive at 9:00am.  Students please wear formal uniform.

Town Hall Meeting- March 10th at 6:00pm.  Find out how our students do on IOWA test. More information to come.

Sixth Grade Science Camp- March 9th through 12th – Sixth grade students will not have school on Friday, March 13th.

Report cards sent home– Friday, March 13th.

Peach Blossom – Friday, March 13th at 10am at Fresno State.

Car Raffle Sales at OLV Parish- March 15th.  Please call the office to reserve your spot!

2nd Trimester Academic Awards– Tuesday, March 17th @ 8:30am

NOON DISMISSAL OPTIONAL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – March 18th – Please contact your teacher if you wish to have a conference.

Soup Kitchen/Living Stations – Friday, March 20th 6pm Soup/ 7pm Living Stations

NO SCHOOL Golf Tournament-March 27th at Fig Garden Golf
