January 22, 2015

January has been very busy and I need a day off! Fortunately, next Tuesday I will have a “substitute” to take care of my administrative duties.  I won’t just have one but two administrators!  This is just one of the activities planned for Catholic Schools Week on January 25th through Febuary 1st.

Next Tuesday 5th grader Diego Castillo and his cousin kindergartener Isabella Castillo will be in charge of the school! As with any new administration there will be some changes.  Principal Diego believes students learn better if they are wearing comfortable clothes. He has named Tuesday January 27th -Pajama Day! Students may wear appropriate sleep wear and shoes of their choosing.  Sweat pants are okay and no slippers please!  He also feels because this new dress code will increase student learning enough so homework will not necessary.  Principal Bella would like our students to celebrate Catholic Schools’ Week by watching a movie after lunch. Students may bring stuffed animals to cuddle with and bring snacks to eat during the movie.  Lastly both Bella and Diego would like to make Tuesday Teacher Appreciation Day.

The Crab Feed has officially sold out! We are still in need of volunteers to help clean up after the event.   Also, we will be selling raffle tickets at the Sunday Masses this weekend.  If you would like to sell tickets or help at the crab feed please call the office.

Next week I will hand over my duties, including this column to the Castillo’s.  I am looking forward to taking a break! Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
