November 4, 2014

This week begins National Vocations week! This week at Morning Prayer we are praying for those who are called to serve!

On Friday the students will participate in several activities designed for vocation awareness.  After Friday morning Mass, each class will have the opportunity to attend adoration in the chapel.  Students will reflect on their many blessings and pray for our future priest, sisters, deacons, married couples, single people and seminarians.

Friday afternoon the students will attend a vocations assembly.  Students will listen to speakers who will share their personal vocation story. I wish to give special thanks our speakers: Sister Kathleen, Seminarian Andy Ruperto, Father Showreddy and Father Dan.

At the assembly Father Dan will introduce a new prayer activity.  He will present a vocations cross which will be sent home each week with a different family.  That family will pray for vocations in a special way during the week.  If you would like to take the cross home please contact the school office for more information.

Have a blessed week, go in peace and don’t run in the halls!

Faith Corner

National Vocation Awareness Week – is being celebrated in our country November 2-8, 2014. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons and consecrated men and women.  May they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of a vocation.

Pray For– Charlie DeGrange and his family; Aidan Torres during his surgery for his arm, Monica Blanco-Etheridge as she recovers from cancer; Mrs. Martin as she undergoes sinus surgery; Adam Lee’s grandmother.

Parents Prayer for Vocations– Almighty and eternal God, in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church.  We pray for those whom you call to serve the Church of Our Lady of Victory Parish as priests inspire in them a generous response. Grant them courage and vision to serve your people May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may: announce glad tidings to the poor proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth.
