March 11, 2014

We are just days away from our 6th Annual Rebel Golf Tournament!  This is my favorite school event because it incorporates exercise, good company, delicious food, and laughter.  In other words, the Golf Tournament puts the “fun” in fundraiser!

I was not always a fan of the golf game.  I took up golf because it made me feel closer to my dad after he passed away.   My dad played golf using the “Winter 8 Rules.”  When he hit the ball and did not like where it landed he kicked it to a better place!  He often did not take score and he always enjoyed himself. Some would say he was not a serious golfer.  I think he was serious about spending time with the people he loved, appreciating the outdoors, and taking time to relax and be carefree which is how I look at the sport now.

If you have not signed up for the tournament you still have time!  Come and have fun and help the school raise some money!  If you aren’t able to play, but would like to help during the event, donate product or make a monetary donation please contact the office as soon as possible.

Recently, I have seen students not in proper uniform attire.  Please remember that students may only wear the OLV logo sweatshirt to school.  Any other sweatshirt or zip-up sweatshirt jacket may not be worn to school.  Also, there are a number of students who bring lunches that need to be heated up.  We have 230 students and only one microwave! If your student is not buying a hot lunch from Mrs. Hernandez, he or she will need to bring lunch that does not need to be warmed up.

God bless your week, go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
