November 12, 2013

Last week our 6th graders spent four days up at Santa Teresita Youth Conference Center in Three Rivers California.  The reviews from the campers and the adults were very positive! Students went star gazing and learned about astronomy from Father John.  They also went hiking, looked for and identified bugs, created science skits and looked for tarantulas! A big “thank you” to our four chaperones who accompanied our students during science camp. They were: Ms. Jeschien, Alison Trukki, Raymond Vargas and Tom Hamilton.  They all survived and came back smiling!   Also, special thanks to all the families that participated in the 6th grade fundraisers.  Of course the leader of our 6th grade, Ms. Noelle Jeschien, who organized the fundraisers and prepared our students, deserves a special round of applause for all her efforts!  Her energy, talent and intellect are very much appreciated.

November is half over and it has flown by quickly!  As the weather continues to cool down please don’t forget to mark your child’s outerwear.  If your child is missing a lunch box, jacket or sweater please go to the office and check out the lost and found box.   It is overflowing with school items.

This Thursday, November 14, the teaching staff will participate in an all day math workshop.  I know this day off makes a very short school week and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your family.  However it is important for teachers to keep current on the latest methodology available and this workshop was too good to pass up.

Report cards go home this Friday and in it you will also find your students ITBS scores.  If you would like to discuss your student’s scores please contact your child’s teacher for an appointment.  Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
