As you know, Mrs. Kennedy retired from teaching last year and I already miss her! She however, has been enjoying extra time with her children and grandson. After thirteen years of dedicated service to Our Lady of Victory School, Mrs. Ramirez has decided not to return for the current school year. She has been a wonderful presence in our community and we will miss her. Please keep both Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Ramirez in your prayers and they begin this next phase of their lives.
Mrs. Ramirez was previously announced as the 2nd grade teacher. We have hired a new teacher, Ms. Perez, who will teach 2nd grade. She comes to us with fifteen years of teaching experience and five of those years have been in second grade. Replacing Mr. Alsup will be Mrs. Martin. She has been teaching for twelve years and has taught a variety of different grade levels. Both of these ladies have already impressed me with their work ethic, kindness and sense of humor!
We have two school board openings that must be filled by parents from our school. The school board meets once a month on the third Tuesday of the month. We begin at 6:00pm, pray, eat dinner, and then get to work. The meetings generally end at 8:30pm. If you are interested in filling this position or nominating someone, please contact the office.
I am still in the process of choosing a lunch program for our school. Hot lunch will be available beginning in September. For the month of August students will need to bring a lunch sack lunch to school! Milk and water will be available to purchase for 50 cents.
I look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday! Go in peace and don’t run in the halls.
