Advent is my favorite liturgical season. I wake up on the day after Thanksgiving excited! For me, the preparation and the anticipation for Christ’s coming calls me to action.
Sunday’s gospel told us to watch and wait. Father Dan said the two most important things to do during Advent are to look for Jesus in everyone we meet and to prepare! We must prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth and also for his second coming. Be ready!
The cash raffle is a major fundraiser for the school. All families are asked to sell four tickets. The cash raffle has the potential to earn a great deal of money for our school. If every family sells four tickets we will earn $14,000. If each family could sell ten tickets we could earn $35,000. If we could sell 15 tickets per family our gross would exceed $50,000. If each of us could sell 20 tickets the gross would be $70,000! That is only a total 2800 tickets for us to sell! We can definitely do this! There will be opportunities for you to sell your tickets at OLV church and other parishes. In next week’s letter there will be an informational flyer with ideas for selling tickets. Your student was sent home with six cash raffle tickets on Friday, the 21st of November. If you did not receive your tickets please call the office. Go Rebels!
Have a wonderful week, go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
