October 28, 2014

It is official…the auction was a great success! This celebration was made possible by the efforts of a strong community coming together.

Elisha Nakada, the OLV School Parent Club board, parents and many other volunteers spent months on the preparation for the auction.  Their hard work was evident on Saturday night!  The venue was decorated beautifully, the food was delicious and the company was outstanding. There were many wonderful silent and live auction items to bid on.  Jeff Cardinale, who was the auctioneer, and George Takata, of KSEE Sunrise who was the event MC, did a fabulous job of keeping the guest entertained and happy. Father Dan, Father Jesus, Father Showreddy, and Andy Ruperto our seminarian were also in attendance.  Father Dan shared his thoughts on Catholic education and thanked everyone for their commitment to our school. Father Jesus pulled the winning raffle ticket!  A special thank you to all our volunteers for their commitment to our school and the benefactors for their generosity!

Fall is officially here and the mornings are cold.  Please remember:

  • Mark your child’s name on all of their outerwear.
  • Only OLV sweatshirts maybe worn to school.
  • Red crewneck or half zip sweatshirts from our on-line store may also be worn to school.
  • All other sweatshirts from the on-line store may be worn on Wednesday only.

Have a blessed week, go in peace and don’t run in the halls!

Sincerely,

Faith Corner

St. Jude, Apostle  St. Jude, also called Thaddaeus, is the apostle who at the Last Supper asked the Lord why he showed himself only to the disciples and not to the world.  For many centuries he was scarcely venerated because people confused him with Judas Iscariot.  He is the patron saint of lost and desperate causes.

Saintly Quotes-  “At the end of our life, we shall all be judged by charity” – St. John of the Cross

Special Thanks- To Elisha Nakada and the many volunteers who made the auction successful!
