October 7, 2014

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Victory!  We had a wonderful celebration beginning with free dress and ending with delicious croissants! Andy Ruperto, our parish seminarian, prepared a presentation for our students that included some history of the event along with games and prizes.

Also, today was the installation of our student government officers and representatives. We prayed for spiritual guidance for our leaders as they recited a pledge of commitment to the school community. Their first official act as leaders was to lead us in Morning Prayer.  Thank you Miss Cabral, moderator of student government, for all her work in organizing the installation ceremony!

Our Lady of Victory School receives a WASC accreditation every six years.  In order to earn this we must go through an accreditation process which takes about two years to complete. During the writing process we will evaluate every aspect of our school community and we need your valuable input.

Beginning this week there will be an online survey for all current families to participate in.  This will be your opportunity to express your delights and concerns for the school and the programs offered.  The survey is confidential and if you do not have internet access we have set up additional computers in the office for your use.  There is an informational flyer with the incentives for participation, included in this mailing. The link to the survey is: https://survey.insightify.com/60e-8c3-d6b-811

Parents can log into their School Speak account and view this information in the Announcement section.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Over the next months I will let you know how our WASC self-study is progressing.  I am looking forward to seeing all of you at conferences time! Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!

Sincerely,

Feast of Our Lady of Victory, October 7  This celebration is a remembrance of the 16th century naval victory, which secured Europe against Turkish invasion.  Pope St. Pius V attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was invoked on the day of the battle through a campaign to pray the Rosary throughout Europe.

Special Thanks To: Tina Saldante and her team of parent volunteers for providing an excellent Fun Run event; Allison Trukki who continues to motivate our community!

Pray For: Charlie DeGrange as he and his family travel to Lourdes and Medjugorje.  Pray for a safe trip and Gods blessings! Pray for the auction committee as they prepare for this year’s event!

Prayers of the Day-  Dear Lord, when I am afraid, I put my trust in You.
