September 16, 2014

Our Lady of Victory School community was again working hard for the school last week!

Last week was the beginning of the silent auction class competition.  Students brought in sports equipment, kitchen items, candy, gift cards and cash!  All of these items will be grouped into packages and will be bid on at the fall auction.  Second grade was the winning class this week!  Each student received a gift bag containing candy and a homework pass.  Also on Thursday September 18th, the second graders will have free dress and a special lunch time celebration.  Congratulations second grade families!  This week the theme is gardening, items for Barbeque, gift cards and cash.  Thank you in advance for all your efforts!

The book fair was once again a huge success!   Many thanks to our Librarian, Mrs. Martin, Ms. Schumacher our Scholastic representative, and the team of volunteers!  I do not know how much money we earned for our library, but I do know that many books were donated to the classrooms.  Thank you for your generosity and support to our library!

Our eighth grade families were also working this weekend.  They hosted hospitality at the church last weekend.  They offered a pancake breakfast with eggs and sausage and earned over $500.00.  These funds will be used for the eight grade end of the year activities.  Thank you eighth grade families and all who supported this event!

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the fundraisers for Charlie DeGrange! This Thursday Charlie will receive the Eucharist for the first time! There will be a reception held in his honor on Thursday September 18th  at 6pm in Hayes Hall and everyone is welcome to attend. Please continue to keep Charlie and his family in your prayers.

Despite everyone’s busy schedules the community continues to meet our challenges!  Your positive attitudes and efforts, aides in our growth and keeps our school flourishing!  Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
