Unfortunately, Mrs. Nettell is still not feeling 100% so she has asked me to write the family letter on her behalf touching on certain bullet points that you need to be aware of going into this week.
First and foremost, she would like me to remind everyone that it is not too late to turn in your family’s “Intent to Return” form. Thank you to those of you that have turned in your form – it is greatly appreciated. To those of you that haven’t- please do so by the end of this week. The intent to return form is very important at this time of year. It helps the school estimate how many students are currently vested in returning for the following school year, the status on those who may be leaving us, and also families that are “on the fence” and unsure about returning for the 2014-15 school year. If you are a family that is unsure of your return, know that it is perfectly okay to mark the “Undecided” area on your form and turn it in telling us a little bit about why you might be undecided at this time. Mrs. Nettell can then reach out to you and discuss your decision. Another important reason all forms are needed is that it helps guide the budget management for the next school year. Please get your forms turned in ASAP.
Another important flyer you will find in this week’s family envelope is financial aid information. If you are in need of financial assistance for next school year, follow the steps listed and submit by the requested deadline in order to be considered. If you fail to submit by the due date, you may be ineligible for financial assistance for the 2014-15 school year.
Lastly, enclosed is a letter from Bishop Ochoa. This letter states that Bishop Ochoa has assigned Deacon Kurt Neuhaus as temporary administrator of Our Lady of Victory Parish and all its entities while Monsignor Moreton recooperates. If you have any questions regarding this letter please contact Mrs. Nettell at the school office or via email and she will be happy to answer any inquiries.
It has been my pleasure helping Mrs. Nettell out with the family letter this week. I want to wish all OLV families a wonderful and safe week.
Amy M. Hirata
OLV Preschool Director
Our Lady of Lourdes In 1858 the Immaculate Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous, near Lourdes in France, in the cavern called “de Massabielle.” Through St. Bernadette Mary calls on sinners to change their lives. She inspired in the Church a great love of prayer and good works, especially in the service of the poor and the sick.
Special Thank You – to Ms. Hirata and staff for filling in for Mrs. Nettell during her absence.
Pray For: The end of the drought in our state and the return to good health for Monsignor Moreton. The Ohanian’s, OLV alumni family, as they grieve the loss to their son Kasey.
Congratulations: Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales (our Kindergarten teacher) on the birth of their new baby girl, Isabella Grace who was born February 1, 2014.
Prayers of the Day – Dear Lord, I open my eyes to You, and I give thanks for Your light that warms and brightens my day.
