Being principal of a school can have its good and bad days. But last week and weekend was a wonderful time to be a principal! Here is why:
Fourth grader, Zachary Dawson is a wonderful example for everyone he knows. For most of Zachary’s young life he has demonstrated skills that would make him a wonderful businessman. Even when he was in kindergarten I enjoyed listening to his great ideas! Recently Zachary started his own vending machine business. His vending machines contain a variety of candy and nuts, and they are located in several Good Year Tire Stores throughout the Fresno area.
Zachary’s business plan included a plan for his profits. One of his dreams is to attend San JoaquinMemorialHigh School, so the majority of his profit goes into a savings account to help make that dream come true. His plan also included tithing. Last week, Zachary presented the Our Lady of Victory School community a check for $100.00 which represented 10% of his profits! I am amazed and thankful for the lessons and examples children provide for the world! Thank you Zachary for your thoughtful donation. Special thanks to the Dawson and Mata families, who have given Zachary his wonderful start in life!
Congratulations to Ashley Belleza! She took first place in the in the fourth grade division of the Catholic School Spelling Bee! Our prayers are with Ashley as she prepares for the regional competition. In this competition she will spell against fourth graders from public and private schools. Go Ashley! Thank you to Miss Jeschien who is our spelling coach and to all the students who represented us. I will have more details about the spelling bee in next week’s letter.
Congratulations to our JV basketball teams, Coach Muscat, Coach Trukki, and the families of our team members. They completed the season showing a great deal of growth and skill. They were good sports on and off the court and I am extremely proud of them!
Thanks to Mrs. Wukits who spent the weekend taking pictures of our teams and hosting 5th grade hospitality. I appreciate the 5th grade families who helped with hospitality. They helped the 5th grade earned enough money to pay for their field trip to Sacramento.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our 6th Annual Alumni Crab feed a huge success. It was the perfect balance of fun, food and generosity. The winner of the $1000.00 tuition raffle was pre school student Gabie Pedrigal!
Have a great Catholic Schools Week and don’t forget open house on February 2nd. Go in peace and don’t run in the halls!
