January 9, 2014

Happy New Year!  This is a great time of year for educators and their students.  With the holiday activities over, our teachers will take advantage of this quiet time and re-focus their students on academics!  Here are some tips that will help your student get the most out of this time:

  • Make sure your student gets plenty of sleep and nutritious food.
  • At this time, most students need to replenish their school supplies.  Pens, pencils, and paper are usually at the top of that list.
  • Evaluate study time with your student.  Is your child in a quiet environment?  Does he or she have enough study time? Are the study skills you use at home working or do you need to make changes?
  • This is also a great time for parents to request a conference, if needed, for their student.

In this weeks family packet you will find the names of the school spelling bee winners.  It was a great competition and all our students did very well! Go in peace and don’t run in the halls.
