I met John and Terre Esquivel twenty years ago. John and Terre sent their two sons to Our Lady of Victory School in the 1990’s. During that time John was a coach, a parent club board member and involved himself in every aspect of the school community. When the youngest Esquivel graduated, John continued to support the athletic program. For more than twenty years John has been a positive influence on our students. The commitment, dedication and loyalty he has for our school is infectious. He proudly shares his Catholic school experience with our parish community and his passionate words have brought new families to our campus.
John took his love for our school to a new high as the organizer of the Our Lady of Victory School Alumni Crab Feed. He, along with other alumni families are committed to raising funds for our school. Last year John and his faithful committee raised over $30,000 and this year they would like to raise even more. I am continually in awe, inspired and grateful to this group of alumni families. If you see any of them say thanks or better, send a thank you note to them!
The crab feed committee needs 10 to 15 parents from the school to sell soda and water during the dinner and to clear tables at the end of the evening. The time spent helping out at the crab feed will count towards parent hours. To sign up for this opportunity please call the office and they will add you to the list and give you more information. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
The OLV School Board is looking for a group of smart, creative and committed people to be part of the Our Lady of Victory School Development Team. If you are interested in marketing and development, or you know someone who is, please leave your name and number at the office and a member of the school board will contact you with more detailed information.
Although we all cannot give to our community on the level that John Esquivel does, it is important to remember, “Do your best and let God handle the rest!”
Have a blessed week! Go in peace and don’t run in the halls.

Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary– Saturday January the 19th. The memorial is a remembrance of the maternal example and discipleship of the Blessed Virgin Mary who, strengthen by faith and hope, on that great Saturday on which our Lord lay in the tomb, was the only one of the disciples to hold vigil in expectation of the Lord’s resurrection.
Thank you to– The many alumni families that are preparing and organizing this year’s crab feed! Special thanks to the chair of the OLV Crab Feed, John Esquivel.
Pray For – Comfort and peace to the Dalena family (long time parishioners and school family), the Marquez family and The Gonzales families. Each family lost loved ones over the holidays.
